Dr. Peruma’s academic-related contributions include his roles as a conference and journal reviewer for prestigious events like ICPC and ICSME, as well as journals such as Empirical Software Engineering and Transactions on Software Engineering. He has served as a panel reviewer for the National Science Foundation and held organizer, chair, and volunteer roles in various academic conferences and workshops.

Dr Peruma is committed to fostering interest in computing and supporting STEM education within the local Hawaii community. His outreach efforts include speaking at school career fairs, mentoring students, and serving as a judge for state and national science and technology competitions.
